Sans rien renier des médiums traditionnels, elle crée un univers d'installations et d’œuvres numériques, maniant les pixels comme sa palette de peintre.

THE SONG OF THE EARTH
Soil-based photographic prints

The relationship with the environment is expressed, among other things, in the representation of nature. To explore the dual perception of the subject and its photography, I undertook to create photographic prints using soil collected directly from the shooting locations. After many months of experimentation, I developed a procedure to grind the collected soil into a powder to obtain a pigment that I incorporate into a photographic process. I call these soil-based photographic prints : earth prints (terrotypes in French).

Everything begins with the shooting. The geology of the landscape must be considered just as much as the light. The experience begins on the field and continues in the laboratory. Each earth print vibrates with a hue and a softness unique to its soil. The results depend on what the location is willing to offer. The image is like an echo of our natural connection to the earth.

INTIMATE PORTRAITS
Created by alternative processes

Portraits are created in two stages: shooting in the studio, and printing using a process chosen to express the model's character. If required, a high-definition reproduction of the print ensures reproducibility.

THREE COLORS
Tricolor gum prints

Tricolor gum printing was one of the first colour photographic processes. Its material is similar to watercolour; the prints are made with a succession of transparent pigmented layers of the three primary colours. The process allows to explore the vibrations of colors with an infinite range of interpretations.

Two years of reporting alongside eminent gemologists. Exceptional permits of access to the valley give to this work a special documentary value. As usual, my aim was not just to illustrate, but also to express emotions and impressions.

THE PEOPLE OF WOOL

Directed by Dominic Dormeuil, an expert in precious wools, I travelled the world for two years to meet producers of traditional wools. The photographs are a tribute to the people of wool, whether they be hunters, nomadic pastoralists or farmers.

MOTHER INDIA

Like many other travellers, I fell in love with India on my first trips in the early 1980s. Since then I've travelled there regularly on assignments for photo stories, but also to study the culture and the Hindi language. After more than forty visits, I have published several articles to the challenges facing modern India.

It was my initiatory land where I made my first long-term reports. In the 1980s and 1990s, I focused on the mystical traditions of the invisible world, where shamans and astrologers reign. Some of the images now have documentary value. More recently, my reports have been dedicated to environmental issues.
